Happy Turkey Day to all my friends!
I hope you get lots of good food and get to spend time with all those you love!!!! This weekend was a busy one!
Friday afternoon I helped some guy I didn't know do something in our garage. Not sure what he was doing but he was over by the thing that makes a "whoosh" sound sometimes and then hot air comes out of the floor. I also had to go pick up the pizza later that night! Saturday I went for a walk, came home and ate my chicken, helped rake leaves, dug a big hole, took a shower, had my picture taken with Santa, came home, napped, went swimming, came home, ate more chicken then fell asleep. Sunday I went for my normal long walk, played with my friend Maury, helped rake the rest of the leaves then took a nice long nap. My woman said my hip is much better today and it showed because I wanted to play tonight. So we did! I got to play with my soccer ball. My people didn't kick it very hard so I wasn't really running but it was a lot of fun. I tore more pieces off of it.
Then it started to rain really hard and it was hitting me in my eyeballs and going into my ears so we went inside and played. My woman picked up some medicine that we both can take for our joints. She has a bad shoulder. The stuff she got was called Traumeel and the other thing is called Zeel. She didn't expect it to work but after 5 days, she realized her shoulder is feeling better. My woman is taking an online class called "Helping Your Dog's Hips." She already knows how to massage me but she said this teaches stuff she doesn't know how to do. She said it takes 8 weeks to finish and she got her 1st lesson tonight. My woman also thinks she's found someone who can teach my man how to do Reiki. I'm not sure what that is but she said my man would be perfect for it and learning it would be wasted on her. My man's looking forward to learning. Today I went out for a walk and played ball and checked trees and saw some of my friends.
Came home, ate some raw chicken, had some pizza, took a nap and helped check the tire pressures of both my vehicles. It was close to what is my normal dinner time and my people told me I was going to go swimming at the pool!!!!! We never go to the dog pool this late! It was so exciting I barked the whole way there! It's been months and months since I've been there! I spent the whole 45 minutes swimming and playing with my dummy and jumping into the pool! The woman who owns the pool said I looked like I could swim another 45 minutes. We went to my Kia and I got a post-swim snack and then we drove home. That was strange because it was dark. When we got home, I ate my soup that I get before I eat my raw food, played some tug-of-war and ate some more raw chicken. Then I climbed up onto my bed and fell asleep! I'm tired!!! My people say I must be really happy because I'm really tired! Monday morning my woman noticed I was a little stiff in my left hip after I got up from a nap. It went away after I took a couple of steps but would come back after I slept for a long time.
She also noticed that when I got up onto my triple-decker bed, I would get up normally but I would hold my left leg off the ground for a tiny second before I put it down. She also noticed my right leg moved farther than my left when I trotted by. When I wasn't a lot better by Wednesday, my people made an appointment at the vet. So today I went to the vet. She was a wise woman and said I was an excellent dog with shiny white teeth, lots of muscles and I was very sweet. She also said my people pay a lot of attention to me to be able to see that there was something not quite right with my leg. I was also probed again in an area where things should come out but that's another story. She messed along my spine, checked my feet and toes very carefully and spent a lot of time moving my back legs. She thinks my friend Maxi may have hurt me Monday morning when we were playing. Maxi is a Rottweiler and she pushed on my left hip hard enough that I kind of squatted. She said dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis notice smaller injuries more in their bad parts so if I strained a muscle or even had a bruise, I would try to protect my bad hip more. I'm supposed to just go for leashed walks and not get all crazy with my friends for awhile. And take pills that will keep swelling down when I need them. My woman is looking at things that will do what the pills do but not do any bad things to my body. And I still get to swim on Saturday! My people say my hip will probably enjoy the warm water. My woman said if I wasn't the last swim of the day, she'd see about having the massage therapist give me a massage after my swim. Sunday is one of the bestest days ever! I get to go for a super long walk, come home, eat, have some pizza, sleep, and do jobs!
I help get all the garbage from the trash cans and put it in the roll cart, take the recyclables out to that roll cart, sometimes I have to put stuff like branches and weeds into that roll cart and I get to pick up POOP!!!!!! I don't poop much in my yard but picking it up is one of my favorite jobs. Then I have to herd the roll carts to the sidewalk. Today I went for a 4 hour walk and played a lot of police dog and check-your-tree. And I'm going to help my man work on the shed doors because it's sunny today and not as cold. My people decided I should have a Tails From The Puppy Butt on my website so here's my very 1st blog post!
Today was a good day. I played a lot of ball in a lot of different places. Came home, did a bunch of jobs, ate my chicken and then my man made me take a nap. I woke up long enough to have a little pizza then went back to bed. My people like watching me eat my raw food. I get soooo excited and while I eat my ears go all funny, my eyes half close and I make yummy noises. My people still hold my raw chicken for me but that's so they can feed me smaller pieces that would be too dangerous for me to eat normally. And I don't like to get my paws dirty by touching my food. Plus it's easier for me to rip and tear it apart with one of them holding it. I still like my ZiwiPeak dog food and wet food but there's nothing nummier than raw! |
