It's really wet out. It's been raining so much my people had to dig big ditches in my backyard last week because we had a lake forming and a stream running towards our house! The paths are flooding in the park when we go for walks and the place I played with Pawsy is called the "rice patty" by the humans. The big raindrops fall in my ears and my eye-bah-balls! I don't like it when it does that! My people tell me I'd be much happier if I'd wear a rain hat but Boo-Dog doesn't wear no stinkin' hats. My people said we already had 2 months of rain this month and that's before we started getting all this rain yesterday and we're supposed to get 3 more inches today and tomorrow. That will make it almost 3 months of rain by the weekend. I saw my rehab vet last week. My woman was given "home work" to do by the vet - she's supposed to massage muscles on my legs to keep them loose. My knee is still healing. The vet said the only time she felt "drawer movement" was when she bent my knee past 90 degrees. I did the underwater treadmill later. I was supposed to do the underwater treadmill tomorrow but I had some tummy issues this week. My people think it's because I ran out of the food my people brought and the vet tech gave me a ton of treats that looked like big dog food. My people started feeding me chicken and making sure I was drinking more water. My tummy feels much better but they don't want me to stress my tummy. My woman is going to find a squeeze tube to put my food in so I can't eat it so fast. My wetlands just below the house has beavers and Nutria! The Nutria are really interesting. I like to sit and watch them. I always stop to see if I can see the Nutria and I sniff to see if I can find one. I thought I should be able to go up to one that was only 3 feet away but my person said I couldn't go visit with. I like the beaver too. I haven't seen it yet but I can smell it! There's also an Egret sometimes. The Egret is the most fascinating thing I've ever seen. I'll ignore everything but Nutria if I see the Egret. We almost got run over by a coyote last weekend. We were going to go on a trail but it wasn't the right one so we turned around and the coyote got scared by me and ran off for the street. That was the way we were going and it almost hit us! I was a good girl and didn't chase it because of my bad knee. It was smaller than I was so probably just a kid! I like to go up to the vet clinic by our house and see if anyone is there to give me treats. I know the vehicles the 2 morning vet techs drive so, if I see those cars in the parking lot, I go up to say hi. If the people are in the cars and the windows are open, I get to rear up so my paws are inside the door and give kisses. One of the vet techs didn't realize I was there when I reared up. She heard me breathing and went "Ahhh!" then saw it was me and laughed! I've been able to play with a couple of dog buddies. We each had a toy and got to trot around the park together. ----------------------------------------------- Packing for Montana 2015 The green boxes came out and the thing that looks like a squirrel tree but isn't one got put up in my room. Barkmas is coming!!!!!!! I helped hang things in the tree and put the thing I bury treats in under it (my people call it a "tree skirt," silly people! trees don't wear skirts!) and put lights up all around the house. I helped my woman plan out what treats we are going to make my friends. I am the treat inspector. They don't agree with me that I should perform 100% quality sampling! I bought my gift for my people and sent my woman out to buy stuff for my rehab vet, my massage ladies, and the vet clinic that gives me all the treats. My woman had to have some teeth brutally cut out (they took her wisdom!) and I got a new crate to stay in while they were gone. My old crate got too small and I would jump any gates they put up so they said I had to stay in a crate for a couple of hours. I don't like to be in a crate so they drugged me! It sits in the living room and, sometimes, I like to go in there and lay down! Sometimes there are treats hidden in there that I have to find. Maybe crates aren't so bad. I went to the rehab vet Friday morning to walk in the thing that fills part way with water and then the floor moves. I get tripe and cream cheese. They found out I can't do what I am supposed to do - walk, stop and rest, walk, stop and rest, and walk. I get too upset when it stops and try to get out. So now I walk the whole time. And they have me start walking when the water starts coming into the thing and keep me walking until the water is gone. I walked for 12 minute plus the time it took to fill and drain. They have a pool there that I keep wanting to get into and they tell me maybe someday soon I can get in it. I miss swimming but I get too crazy and would hurt myself at the pool I normally go to. Friday afternoon I went to my vet and she poked me with a needle to see what came out of a lump on my ribs. She also looked at a lump on my flank area but didn't do anything to that one. My Kia has been set up so I get 2/3 of the back seat and my man gets the other 1/3. That way I have someone with me to give me treats! My people say that's not why someone has to be with me when we go somewhere. They say it's some nonsense about me not being able to get crazy when I see bicycles, motorcycles and pedestrians with dogs. I see the rehab vet on Friday to see how my knee is doing and how much my muscles are growing with my rehab work. She said I could do a lot more, I just can't get crazy. I still can't jump on and off furniture but I get to go in the other bedroom to sleep on my bed in there instead of being locked in the bedroom at night. And my bench is still blocked off but it's now just boxes instead of boxes and gates. I like just the boxes a lot better. I've gotten to play with some friends too. We all get to have a ball and trot around together. My woman is learning to massage small animals and I get to be her study buddy! When Beth-massage-lady comes every week to do my massage, she has her poke and prod me when she finds something. I like being a study buddy! |
