I celebrated Ostara with my people. I got a playground ball with a bunny face on it to kill and have a basket full of treat-filled eggs. I get to find an egg every couple of days. I'm a tired puppy! Being a physical therapist for my man is tiring. He needs lots of puppy supervision and, sometimes, a good bite to the butt!!!!! He's going back to work soon so I have to make sure I get him out for a couple hours a day while I can. i was so tired Monday I had my supplements fed to me in bed. After they got back from the people vet, I was rested so I was pretty full of myself. I helped unload stuff from the Kia. I helped my woman do a bunch of yard work. I'm not sure what all she was doing so I dug in the front yard for her. She got rid of the weeds from my boxes so now I can lay in all the boxes in the retaining wall! I've been on "Barney" patrol since the weather is so warm. I like Barney. My people say we have more than one that lives in our yard. None of the Barneys like me much though. They slither away from me and, when I get too close and try to sniff them, they hiss and open their mouths at me. My people tell me I have to leave Barneys alone or they'll bite me. Some of them are so small, they might be able to bite my toenails. I only get to be around Barneys at home though. Last year one of the Barneys was in the backyard and got too cold so I plopped down next to it to protect it until it warmed up enough to slither off home. I said goodbye to my friend Jack. He moved to Texas a couple of days ago. He was a Bernese Mountain Dog that was afraid of everything - his food bag, the toaster, shadows, sometimes me, his leash. etc. I went to the rehab vet for my normal stuff. Since I was tense because my man wasn't with me, he was wounded, and I had to protect him, I got CHEESE instead of the normal treats. A whole stick of cheese! I was extra good. She gave me some pills to help me relax too. They aren't drugs but are something you can get at a store. They worked too. I stopped feeling like I had to be my man's protector and could actually go play with my friends again. I went to my vet last week and had a bunch of indignant stuff done. My temperature was taken (things come out of there, they aren't supposed to go IN!), they stole my pee, they poked my head and hip with needles, and stole blood. My people said they were checking lumps to see what they were. The one on my head is called a sebaceous cyst and the one on the hip they couldn't figure out because nothing really came out. I have 2 others like it that I've had for years. The vet said something calle "ALT" was a little high. My people said its a liver enzyme. I'm getting milk thistle to see what that does to the ALT. The vet said there are 2 things they can give me but I'm already eating so many powders that I some nights I get too full before I can finish them all so we are just doing the milk thistle for now because it doesn't add too much. I've been going for 2 to 2-1/2 hour walks every morning with my man. I like to go see if the muskrats are at the wetlands. They aren't always there. The muskrats are much more interesting than the nutria or beavers that I sometimes see in there. I've even seen an otter. Photos from September |
