Tails From The Puppy Butt

I'm Back!!!!

6/10/2015

My people and I took a break from the website but I'll be checking in from time to time now!

Since I last had my person type for me I've:
Been swimming at the doggy pool, we sometimes have to go a different way for bridge or road construction.

Helped take care of my best friend Jonny and his roommates Sammy and Poe.  Two of their people went to Bulgaria so we had to go over and let my doggy buddies out during the day.  My job was to help keep kitty Poe from going outside while my people tried to get Sammy to come out from where he was hiding under the coffee table.

Did a bunch of yard work.

Kept an eye on the Barneys (garter snakes) and helped get one out of the road and back to its house which is in one of my bushes.

Played in my pool.

Tried to stay cool in our heat wave.

Went to the rehab vet a couple of times.

Got massages.

Spent 4 hours at the e-vet after I had weird breathing and brought up a bunch of mucous that hadn't made it to my stomach one day after getting my Lupus pills.
They x-rayed to make sure I didn't have something in my throat and found what they called an "esophageal anomaly."  They were able to see part of my esophagus in the x-ray and it just stopped.  My rehab vet, regular vet, a human respiratory therapist, and a person in a group my woman belongs to all think it was a "mucous plug" in my esophagus.
Everyone thinks my allergies acted up which is why I had all the mucous.  But they don't know why it got stuck in my esophagus instead of ending up in my stomach.  There's a possibility that my esophagus has a "stricture" or there may have been a bunch of mucous that kind of got balled up in my esophagus.  It hasn't happened since then but, if it does, I will have to be put under so a scope can look at my esophagus.
My vet put me on 2 more supplements - 1 for the lungs because they sounded "harsh" and 1 for allergies.  He that if my lungs sound fine on my next visit, I could stop taking the lung supplement - he also said the sound could be from normal aging, a lung issue, or just adrenaline from being at the vet office but he didn't think it was anything to worry about.  He said the allergy supplement may or may not work because allergies are really hard to manage so we are to see if it helps me.  If it doesn't, and my allergies get worse, he mentioned blood testing for allergens and treating with remedies.
