For my 1st vacation we drove to Tillamook so we could drive down the Oregon Coast and into California and back. My people wanted to see how I did traveling. They said I did really good and it was a lot of fun!
Home to Newport
We drove to Tillamook, Oregon to Cape Lookout State Park where we ate lunch and did some hiking. Then we drove down to Newport, Oregon where we spent the night at a motel where the ocean was right across the street and every room had an ocean view. It was my 1st time staying in a motel. It was kind of strange but I liked looking out the window at everything going on. And I LOVED the beach right across the street!!!!
Newport to Bandon
I got to go play on the beach and then we checked out and drove from Newport, Oregon to Bandon, Oregon. We made a bunch of stops along the way, including to Heceta Head Lighthouse and Face Rock State Park. I didn't play much on the beach at Bandon because it was so windy, there was a lot of blowing sand. I didn't like that at all. We spent the night at a motel in Bandon.
Bandon to California Redwoods to Brookings
We drove from Bandon, Oregon to the redwoods by Crescent City, California. It was a pretty boring drive for me on the way down and I thought the redwoods were boring. I wasn't allowed to explore any trails because the redwoods aren't dog friendly which is why my people only planned on doing the scenic drive. On the way back to Brookings, Oregon, we made a couple of stops so I could run around on the beaches at Boardman State Park. It was hot so that was fun! We spent the night in a cabin at a resort across the highway from the beach! That was our favorite place to stay.
Brookings to Yachats
I got to go play on the beach and then we checked out and drove from Brookings to Yachats, Oregon. We stopped and did some hiking at Cape Perpetua Scenic Area just south of Yachats. We stayed at a motel that sits on a cliff right on the ocean but there was no beach so we drove to the beach to play. It was really foggy so we didn't take any pictures!
Yachats to Home
We checked out and headed for home. We stopped at Newport so I could play on the beach again!
