Oregon: Summer 2020

Packing The Jeep

I helped my people pack the Jeep the day before we left.

Oregon Vacation Rental

Because of my collapsing trachea, I couldn't go to my usual spot in Montana this year.

My woman looked at places to rent in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming for lower elevation places.  She found 3 places that had access to swimming, would be kind of away from people, and weren't up very high.  One was in Washington by the Canadian border, one was in southern Oregon, and one was on the central Oregon coast.

She picked the place on the coast.  The other 2 places had ponds on the property but with a dry as the Pacific Northwest has been, we worried that the ponds wouldn't be as nice and could have a toxic algae bloom.

The place on the coast was only a 4 hour drive!  It was on 25 acres with 3 other houses.  1 house was another rental and the other 2 houses were lived in by the property owner and her family.  There was a place to swim on the property that was dependent upon the tides, dirt roads to explore on the property, a nice yard, and we were really close to some forest roads.  The house was my favorite that I have ever stayed in.  We were also close to town and there was a restaurant there that had ELK BURGERS! With BACON!!!!!!  We bought a bunch of elk burgers, froze them, and brought them home in the cooler boxes we used to bring my food out.

Because we weren't driving for a couple of days, my man made new support legs for my Jeep bed to make it lower and let me keep my head up more when I stand which helps me with my breathing.  The big 5-day cooler won't fit but the medical cooler boxes my man's IV bags from 2014 came in fit great and still had room to put some little things on top.  We were able to bring all my food, a couple of my vanilla bean cheesecakes, my pumpkin for my pumpkin pie, and some hamburger.

Because of Covid-19, no one was renting the other rental house so it was really great.  The road was private so there were no cars to worry about.
